Grading Policy
All assignments are worth 100 points. All work should be handed in on the due date. Points will be deducted as assignments are turned in late.
Reading logs will be due every other Wednesday. Over the 9 week quarter, the reading log will be worth a grade of 100 points. If a student is absent when the reading log is due, he/she must turn in the log when they return to school. While it would beneficial to have nightly reading of 30 minutes, home schedules may not always allow for this. That being said, students need to average 30 minutes of reading per day during the 2 week period. There will be 4 reading logs per 9 weeks grading period. Each log is worth 25 points.
Spelling Unit packets will be given on Mondays. Students will turn in their packet on Thursday or Friday. Each packet is worth 10 points, so that over a grading period they will total to 100 points, the value of one grade.
Grades will include reports, quizzes, tests, notebook work, writing samples, practice work, etc. All that we do is valuable and requires that students do their best each and every time.
